1. Return Period

You have 30 calendar days from the date of delivery to return an item. To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • Unused and in the same condition as received
  • In the original packaging with all tags attached
  • Accompanied by the original receipt or proof of purchase

2. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Personalized or custom-made items
  • Perishable goods
  • Intimate or sanitary goods
  • Sale or clearance items (unless defective)
  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software or digital products
  • Items damaged through misuse or normal wear and tear

3. How to Return an Item

  1. Contact Customer Support

    Email returns@metramarket.co.za with your order number and reason for return within 30 days of delivery.

  2. Receive Return Authorization

    We'll send you a return authorization number and shipping instructions within 2 business days.

  3. Pack Your Item

    Securely pack the item in its original packaging with all accessories, tags, and documentation.

  4. Ship the Package

    Send the package to the address provided. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is defective.

  5. Track Your Return

    Use the tracking number provided by the courier to monitor your return shipment.

  6. Receive Your Refund

    Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll process your refund within 5-10 business days.

4. Refund Process

4.1 Refund Timeline

Once we receive your return:

  • Inspection: 2-3 business days
  • Approval Notification: Within 24 hours of inspection
  • Refund Processing: 5-10 business days after approval

4.2 Refund Method

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refunded to the same card
  • Bank Transfer: Refunded to the same bank account
  • PayFast: Refunded via PayFast to original payment method

4.3 Shipping Costs

Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (wrong item or defective item).

5. Exchanges

We offer exchanges for:

  • Defective or damaged items
  • Wrong items received
  • Size exchanges (where applicable)

To request an exchange, contact us at returns@metramarket.co.za with your order number and details of the exchange requested.

6. Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item:

  • Contact us within 7 days of delivery
  • Provide photos of the damage/defect
  • We'll provide a prepaid return label
  • Full refund or replacement will be issued

7. Sale Items

Sale or clearance items may have different return policies. Check the product page for specific return eligibility. Sale items can only be returned if defective.

8. Gift Returns

If you received an item as a gift:

  • You can exchange the item for store credit
  • The original purchaser must authorize the return
  • Gift returns must be made within 30 days
